Indijoe - For one of the best Sizzlers in Delhi / NCR - 3.5/5

You are not going to do justice to what Indijoe has to offer if you stick to the Buffet. So say no to the buffet and come straight to the ala carte menu. I saw the ratings on Zomato and thought that the place isn’t as bad as the reviews say it is. I realized a large section of the reviews were based on the Buffet so I stuck to ordering from the Menu.

Located on the top floor where all other eateries exist Indijoe is a place you must visit if you love a Sizzler every once in a while. The ambiance is nice in red and black dominating the colour scheme. Dim lights, colourful lamp shades, murals on the walls, the vibe of the place is pretty lively and vibrant. The seating space is pretty huge and you would generally get a table pretty easily. Even though they call themselves an all American diner, they still serve a variety of other cuisines like Thai, Mexican, Italian and Lebanese fare. The Menu covers interesting options like steaks, hot dogs, some famous Mexican fare, a bouquet of pastas, pizzas,  fondues and even desserts. They also serve an enormous Lunch Buffet but I would skip that since the menu is far more interesting than what the buffet offers. You could also head to their stylish Bar and enjoy some exotic signature cocktails including daiquiri’s and margarita’s.

The food is as interesting as the menu and definitely tastes good but the service is average. Even though the restaurant wasn’t that full when we visited, I thought the service could be better. The pricing of the dishes is pretty decent too. We were a bunch of 8 people and we hogged sizzlers, sandwiches and even pasta’s, and loved everything we had. Now coming down to the food review, this is what we had.

  • Veg Country Club Sandwich – Served with Fries and is pretty wholesome in quantity. The stuffing consists of cottage cheese steak, tomato, cucumber and onions done up in their signature countryside way. Tastes good. Rating 3.5/5

  • Margarieta & Rustica Pizza – Pretty cheesy and typical Amerrican styled Pizza’s with loads of cheese and toppings & absolutely delicious. 4/5

  • Sizzling Chicken Sizzler with Mushroom sauce – great taste and quantity – Rating 3.5/5

  • Spicy chicken sizzler – Wholesome and a meal in itself – Rating – 3.5/5

Sinyora's - Your Pasta Companion delivering at your doorstep. - 4/5

How would you like 100% Natural, Hand made, world class Pasta's and Pasta sauces to be delivered at your doorstep? I am sure the idea excites you as much as it excites me. And well you would wonder you are based in some far end corner of the city and what if they do not deliver to your side of town? Worry not Sinyora's come's to your rescue and promises to deliver freshly made durum wheat pasta's at your doorstep to satiate the cooking craving of the Chef in you.

Sinyora's is the new Pasta delivery service and you can even give them a 24 hour notice if you are planning a pasta party at your place and they will deliver boxes of freshly made lasagna's, Ravioli, and other pasta's with freshly made sauces which are absolutely free from any additives or preservatives, and really lift the pasta to another level.

For the health conscious one important piece of information that the pasta's are made of Durum wheat and the sauces are not loaded with oil or cheese or condiments. The sauces are perfectly seasoned.

Even if you are not planning a pasta party and are in no mood to cook an elaborate dinner order pasta's from Sinyora's at your doorstep combine the ingredients as per the simple steps mentioned on the pasta boxes and Eureka your restaurant standard meal is ready.

I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered the three cheese and spinach Ricotta ravioli with Piri Piri and Tomato basil sauces. I simply had to put the pasta in hot boiling water for 6 minutes without even defrosting it. Then I heated the sauces and tossed them over the ravioli and there it was my dinner. Then I opened a bottle of Italian Chianti to complement this exotic meal and both me and my husband relished the ravioli to the last piece. I had toasted a piece of Garlic bread with it  which complemented the pasta really well.

What is superb about their pasta is that they are oh so fresh and you can order from a lot of varieties to suit your palate and the quantity of the sauces are pretty generous too. You can make your meal more exotic by grating some cheese and celery on top and get some extra loving from your husband.

Well I would definitely recommend you order form Sinyora's it is definitely worth the minimalist cooking effort and saves you the time and money of spending on the same quality food in an overpriced restaurant. You can sit on your terrace put up two chairs and a table, open a bottle of wine and enjoy Sinyora's pasta's in the candle light.

La Patagonia Camden Town, London - 4.5/5

Camden as it is is a very lively place with great street shopping options and loads of Global street Food. I enjoyed some of the best Poutine, Paella, Bao’s and empanadas on the streets of Camden. And when I was in London this Summer before we could party Friday night we decided to go out for a dinner with our friends and then hitting the dance floor. Our friends recommended La Patagonia because they were regulars and loved the place.

My first experience with Argentinian cuisine and I am Impressed. La Patagonia is an Argentinean Restaurant located in the hip and happening Camden town Area in London. Argentinians love their meat so being a meatohollic myself I was super excited to try this new cuisine.

A very nice, unpretentious and cozy restaurant with a cute ambiance, simple wooden furniture and framed pictures occupying every inch of the walls.  They claim that majority of their food is prepared on the parrilla charcoal grill and all of the wine is sourced from Mendoza, in the western Argentinean area near the Andes. I would hands down recommend the place to all steak lovers. Pure Argentinean steak cooked to perfection.

Thankfully we had already pre-booked a table for 4 earlier because I realised that the place is quite a favourite and people are willing to wait to enjoy their food.  It's menu is varied and they have all Major well known Argentinean Meats and Empanadas and Chimichurri accompanied dishes with some reasonably priced steaks and other meats on the menu too.  The Food is very god and not too heavy. An argentinean steak with a Salad and Mash costs less than 8 quid which is great. Food is great and the serving is decent and the service staff is very attentive and friendly.

We ordered a Cannelloni in Tomato sauce which was spectacular. A mixed Grill with grilled chunks of beef, fries and Salad and an Argentinean steak with mash and Salad. We decided to too it with a Bottle of Argentinean Wine. Everything I had was nice. Portions could be better though.

La Patagonia is a great Argentinean restaurant which is a must visit if you are in London.

‘Pizza Trails’ menu at California Pizza Kitchen (October 15 – November 15)

California pizza kitchen is running all new ‘Pizza Trails’ menu. And this certainly is a wow moment for pizza lovers like me. If you adore Pizza's, then this is the right reason for you to be at CPK. I can just close my eyes and tell you that this ‘Pizza Trails’ menu is unlike anything you would have seen, eaten and experienced before.

I have been a huge fan of CPK and since I work right across at Cyber hub, I have run out the number of times I have visited CPK. I enjoyed their Pizza and Beer Fest that they hosted in 2014 and this year they are back with a superbly fantastic, uniquely creative menu covering pizza's from 10 countries hence offering pizza lovers such a wide variety in taste and flavors in the pizza fare.

Well the Chef's have hand crafted a very unique and innovative pizza menu with topings reminding you of famous dishes from 10 different countries. What's even more impressive is that there’s ample to choose from both veg and non veg categories. Whether you like your Pizza's spicy, tangy, flavour-infused or bland, there is something for everyone's palate on this innovative menu. They have also added a great selection of appetizers, beverages and desserts to this menu.

There is a Rustica Indiana Pizza with Cottage cheese as a topping or there is a Hungarian Zesty Meatball Pizza. Interestingly the menu also has the Thai Curry Pizza, Harissa Pizza and the Cheese Burger Pizza. These toppings are unthinkable on any normal Pizza and only the CPK Chef's could come up with the quirky, innovative and tasty versions of some of the worlds most popular dishes.

I was in Cyber hub last night with a bunch of hungry foodie friends and it was indeed a pleasant surprise to encounter this carnival at CPK. We went in and were greeted by the aroma of freshly baked cheesy pizza’s and damn, we felt more hungry. As soon as the menu was handed over to us, we jumped when we read the explanation of all the pizza’s.

The pizza toppings are unlike anything you have heard or seen before. From a Italian ‘Romesco Pizza’ to a Mexican ‘Frijoles A La Mexicana’ Pizza, you are going to be swept off your feet by what the new menu has to offer. And of of course the regular menu has their famous Red velvet cakes and Tira Misu  that ensure a gala end to an already extraordinary meal. But they have added a Banoffee Pie and a mascarpone chocolate Jar called Enigma to the Pizza trails menu which are heavenly too.

I can close my eyes and say that I was more than happy I went and ate. All my friends who were dying to eat some great food and loved me for taking them to CPK.

I tried 4 Pizza's out of the pizza's on offer in the festival. I swear to try the other varieties when I will be back for the fest over the weekend.

This is what I had, and thoroughly enjoyed :

  • Virgin Kiwi Mojito & Virgin Malta & Pom - Truly refreshing. I loved the way they were served in the glass mug.
  • Veg wrap - Loved the cheesy, veggie wraps which had a superb crunch and a great filling
  • Rustica Indiana pizza - Paneer / cottage cheese, makes its way onto a scrumptious pizza thin crust with some superb onions, tomatoes, capsicum and a home made sauce spiced Paneer. A must have.
  • Romesco Pizza -  I cannot stop raving about this Pizza enough. Bell peppers, Olives, cherry tomatoes loaded on a great thin crust really made my day, and one hell of a superb Pizza. The Romesco sauce which is the key ingredient in this Pizza really lifts this Pizza to another level.
  • Frijoles A La Mexicana Pizza- Loved the touch of the tortilla crackers on top. Truly fabulous.
  • Peri Peri Pizza - This Popular South African peri - peri sauce is almost a house hold name in India today and I could hardly imagine that it would lift a pizza above anything else. Definitely a must try.
  • Fettuccine Rouilee - Roasted bell pepper sauce with veggies and Parmesan coated in a divine Fettuccine Pasta is a rockstar of a dish and definitely a must have.
  • Enigma - A superb dessert with a multi layered goodness of chocolate mousse, mascarpone cheese, cherries and granola sprinkles on top. All components combined in a Jar come together to make a fabulous dessert.

Menu Offer : October 15 – November 15

Address : California Pizza Kitchen, 11, Cyber Hub, DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon
