Crusty Gourmet Pizza's Sec - 56 Gurgaon

I don’t know why but Pizza was on my mind for ages and the pressure from everyone at home to go out for a Pizza dinner was immense too. So Crusty seemed the only option since this happens to be situated very close to where we live. This out let is small and cute and they have done up the place really well and truly maximised the little space to the fullest potential. Love the rustic decor with tinted blue furniture and framed pictures on the walls.

The staff is really sweet and know how to sell. And are quite efficient as well, they sense what you want to eat and make recommendations from the menu accordingly. The menu is quite vast and you have tonnes and loads of options to choose from including drinks and calzones and some yummy desserts too. We ordered three 15 inch pizza’s, one calzone and 2 desserts and some mocktails. I must add the pizza’s are great as they come piping hot from the oven. The base is great and they are not stingy with the toppings. The toppings are rather really generous. The calzone however is not very impressive as the pizza’s. The dessert Pizza was a show stopper. The mocktails are decent too. Price wise I would say they are decently priced establishment and the taste and portions complement what you pay for the food.

Coming down to taste test. This is what we had :

Ø  Strawberry Mojito – Nice and refreshing

Ø  Veg Mexican Pizza – Loved it. The base and the toppings were great.

Ø  Peri Peri Veg Pizza – Ah! Loved this pizza to the core. Definitely a must have

Ø  Traditional veg – Nice too. Do try if you can

Ø  Veg calzone – Nothing too great. Love the calzones at Slice of Italy more than this one.

Ø  Nutella Hazelnut Dessert Pizza – Yummilicious, sinfully divine, soul satiating, yet high on calories. But who cares. Worth every inch down your waistline.

Freshler Gurgaon - Disappointing - 3/5

Found the place online through Food Panda. Since I am presently on a detox spree and surviving only on soups, salads and fruits so I decided to order from here.

Even though the place offers nothing new, yet the prices seemed reasonable and I only hoped that the portions complement the prices and so does the food, but the reality turned out something else.

The menu comprises of low calorie healthy items that the health conscious or the ones on a diet would prefer. But the place actually needs to ensure the food is low cal if that is what you are positioning yourself as, which somehow did not seem the case here.

The order arrived a little late than anticipated. I had ordered a fruit Orchard salad, a Ginger Zinger Juice and a tomato basil soup. The salad's quantity was very less for the price. The Ginger Zinger was decent. The tomato soup was disastrous if you are on a diet. It had cream in it and it was salty as hell. Also one would expect a low cal juice to have fresh tomatoes for thickness and not some corn flour used to thicken the soup.

A very average place, you can order only if you must

C'est la vie - Nirvana Courtyard - Gurgaon - 3.5 /5

Visited C'est La vie in Nirvana Courtyard Gurgaon over the weekend and found the cafe really cute. Located just behind the famous and not so great Madison & Pike this cafe is still an infant. Even though they are barely 6 months old they still have the spirit to outserve.

Loved the interiors where murals on the walls are made with chalk and the seating is pretty cozy. The menu is limited and has some crisp no frills attached items and I like that about the menu. A focused menu with soup salad pasta sandwiches salads and desserts the cafe has all the ingredients to be a winner.

The service is swift and the service staff is friendly. Tried a roast pepper and goat cheese salad with fresh cold pressed watermelon and Anar juice and loved both.

My sister enjoyed the chicken breast with a chunky tomato sauce. The chicken was bland and as soon as the owner walked up to us for feedback I was my usual upfront self and told her the chicken was bland. She immediately had it replaced and got the chef do another one for us with a nice dash of freshly ground pepper on top. Such a sweet gesture in creating customer delight.

Loved the place and the food. I also saw some unique desserts on the show window which I refrained myself from since am on a no dessert spree.

Recommend the place highly for one and all who love healthy low calorie food and great desserts including waffles and pancakes.
