Food Bloggers Event at Vatel Hotel and Tourism Management School

Who does not know the prestigious Ansal University that is a big name in providing quality education for more than a decade. Ansal university has a spacious 13 acre campus in The heart of Gurgaon which is just perfect for nurturing tomorrows leaders and entrepreneurs. I recently had the privilege of dining at their Hotel and Tourism Management school at a Lunch event organised by Students. The event was a formal sit down lunch at the hospitality campus at the restaurant where these young talented hospitality aspirants showcased their cooking and service skills.

Ansal University has collaborated with the world renowned Vatel Hospitality School for the hotel and Tourism programme which has received accolades and innumerable awards globally. Vatel’s collaboration makes a difference in providing these young minds global expertise, perspective and exposure and shape them for a bright future ahead. Vatel’s Global student exchange programmes offer the students the opportunity to work with the best professionals globally to polish their skill set. The plush campus has great facilities and a world class infrastructure at par with the best in this field. The event I had the good fortune of personally interacting with the faculty at the event at the campus that day and being a hospitality grad myself I was assured that the young minds at the Vatel Hotel and Tourism Management school are in safe hands. They bring with them rich industry experience that will be surely instrumental in shaping the future of these young Turks.

The event started at a great note with a warm welcome at the entrance in the India style with Tilak and we were escorted to the restaurant. Dr Garima Parkash the Dean of the Hotel and Tourism Programme gave us a warm welcome and showed us around. The restaurants ambiance and décor I would say is at par with any of the best real restaurants where one visits as a paying customer. The students helped us to our tables and handed over the days menu. We had a formal sit down 4 course menu with a mocktail that simply swept me off my feet. I was so impressed that these young chefs are tomorrows Michellin starred chefs in the making. The mocktail was perfectly refreshing to the tea. The Basil and tomato soup oh so refreshing with that awesome after taste of basil was just what one needed on that winter afternoon. The Mushroom and Black Garlic Pate was unlike anything I have tried before. It was just delightful. The mains with exotic grilled vegetables and the crepe verdure with a sundried tomato sauce was just wow. Conchigelli with Pesto sauce just stole my heart.

The star of the Lunch however was the spiced orange and smoked white chocolate mousse with lemon jelly and walnut crumble and the Croquembouche. The custard in the croquembouche was so light and just midly perfectly sweet that I almost died and went to heaven. The gala Lunch was followed by the Dean Ms Garims’s address and an address by Director Vatel Programme India – Mr Laurent Guiraud and they proudly spoke of a bouquet of achievements of their students and the various events they have organised and attended including a master class at the Embassy of France as well and summer internship programmes in France to experience French cuisine first hand.

The event left a lasting impression on my mind and my palate and I still look back and remember the confident young professionals of tomorrow who I had the opportunity to interact with at the Event. All the best students, I am sure you will take the world by storm.
