Smoke House Deli my destination for Sunday brunch for a Sunday couple of Sunday's ago and I hear it has been temporarily shut for some licenses being pending. Sad, coz you all are until then deprived of some awesome food.
This place didn’t fail to impress me at all. The setting is ideal in Haus Khaz Village overlooking the Haus Khaz lake. The place serves contemporary European cuisine. The place is a favourite hangout spot for Celebs and foreign tourists too. But today my journey wasn’t about exploring European tastes, it was about finding the best burger in the city.
The place is pretty lavish and has such a great vibe to it and the interior is done up pretty artistically and murals are hand painted on the walls in black and white. The detailed murals just make the perfect setting for a Sunday brunch. We were seated and we ordered.
They have an interesting all day breakfast menu, but we ordered a red wine Sangaria, a smoked chicken and oregano burger and a smoked Lamb burger. The meal started with an artistic complimentary bread basket, salted butter and some Mustard butter which tasted divine.
My red wine Sangaria with chunks of cut fruit tasted divine and transported me to heaven. Then came the hero’s the smoked chicken and oregano burger and the smoked Lamb burger. Very very happy with the quality and taste and the portions which were enormous
Now coming to taste. Well even though the burgers are slightly expensive, the burgers are minus a cheese slice, so you don’t need to be scared that you will gobble a 1000 calorie meal down your waistline. The Smoked Chicken and oregano burger was nice, and delicately flavoured and served with chilli French fries and some lettuce. The chicken patty was nicely done and the filling of the pickled cucumber and onion was just perfect. But the real hero was the juicy succulent smoked Lamb Burger, I fell in love with. The burger has a horse radish and onion relish which make this burger a superstar. Definitely this burger is a strong contender for being the best burger in the city. The ideal end to my meal was brought about by the delicately flavoured cheese cake, one of the best I have tasted so far in this city.
Smoke house you have my two thumbs up, only with a minor hitches here and there in the service, you are doing just fine
