Well the winters aint over yet, but who can stop a beer lover from grabbing a jug with some peanuts. So there we were at the sector 50 Good Earth Shopping complex and we decided to have beer instead of some fresh Fruit Juice (I am sure that doesn't sound surprising). And even though foreign liquor and beer has become expensive in Gurgaon owing to the taxes , even that did not stop us. So we hopped in and asked for a stella on the tap along with some corn Bhel, Beer Battered Onion rings and a fresh lime soda.
The ambiance of this outlet is nice and is spread across two
floors. Even though the seating on the Ist floor isn’t that comfortable, it
solves the purpose nonetheless. The knick knacks with the beer on the menu are
decently priced and there are a fair number of options. Service is pretty
decent and so is the food. Since it was early Saturday evening the cafe wasn’t overflowing
with people. The music was foot tapping just to set ones mood.
Then came the beer, the fresh lime and the food. The beer on the
tap was fresh and frothy. The Corn Bhel however could do with slightly lesser
peanuts, it tasted nice nevertheless. The fresh lime was sad! The beer battered
onion rings were oily (don’t blame the cafe for that, the onion rings are supposed
to be oily). They tasted fairly good too.
What was not so good was that if you take a look at the bill a mug
of beer costed 1000 bucks plus taxes, which was a downer (blame the Haryana
excise for that). All in all a fairly ok experience. Good news is that post
March the excise on foreign liquor is expected to come down, may be I will
visit again then.
