Do's and Don'ts during air travel in the times of corona virus scare

Under the #coronavirus threat, most of us have chosen to stay at home, but what if you have an important travel that you need to undertake?

What precautions must you take if you have a critical domestic / international air travel coming up. I have compiled a list of dos and don'ts that you must follow :

1. Carry disinfectant tissues , sanitiser and wet tissues with you

2. Wear a mask since airports can be a hub for infection

3. Avoid using touch screen kiosks for self check in , if you have to sanitise your hands post that

4. Instead if carrying credit cards using apps to pay - Samsung pay or other apps like Paytm / mobikwick / Airtel Money etc, avoid handing over your cards and using POS machines to punch in your card pin

5. Keep hand baggage to a bare minimum and avoid putting your stuff in the security trays / bins so that you don't have do touch such unnecessary surfaces

6. Avoid holding handrails / handles of the escalator/ transport bus / metro to your terminal

7. Before you take your seat in the plane take a disinfectant tissue or a sanitiser and sanitise your seat handles , buttons for adjusting the seat, tray tables , window panes / seat belt buckles

8. Wear a mask throughout the flight to safeguard your self if anyone sneezes during the flight

9. Keep your self away from duty free zone  as much as possible to avoid touching any unnecessary surfaces.

10. Post using the lavatories on board wash hands properly post usage and sanitise your hands before returning to your seat since you will open the door and touch the door handles

Brewocrat : Brewery Skybar and Kitchen - Extremely over rated

Ventured to a new place near Rodeo drive sector 49. To sum up this place has great food, great terrace, big portions, great pricing but below par brews 😭 It has all ingredients but donno why being a brewery , their beer falls flat on it's face.

We ordered a pilsner and a wheat and I had a sangria but the brews were not great. The Sangria was just about ok. But I have some great things to talk about the Ambiance and the food.

Great terrace for the wintery sun, the inside seating is fairly huge too. Even the menu is your usual brewery place but the food is nice and portions are good. The schezuan mutton dimsums we're juicy and massive. The veg keema mutter pav was fabulous. The non vegetarians loved the buna Gosht Masala Pav was just outstanding

The cottage cheese mezze platter was massive and just delish πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ. The cottage cheese pita pockets were really filling and the portion was great too. For this much food and drinks the bill for four of us was 3670/- . Will I visit again. Well may be

Son of A Bun : Great Gourmet Burgers

Now Son of a bun is this new kid on the block on Golf course road Gurgaon and they specialize in Gourmet burgers. Saw the menu on zomato and I must add very promising menu. So tonight was a cheat meal night (yet again πŸ™ˆπŸ™Š) and we pampered ourselves to some great gourmet burgers, shakes and great sides.

Great packaging, big portions and great pricing is their USP. Two veggie burgers, the RHCP with a corn and potato patty, jalapeno Mayo and rocket. The Samurai with a Peri Peri marinated cottage cheese patty. The veggie burgers especially were fabulous and much better than I expected. For me the RHCP is one of the best veggie burgers I have had in India. Veggie burgers usually are dry, but the RHCP especially  - juicy 😍.

The lamb burger or LAMBHURGINI as they call it was great and juicy with bacon. An absolute Must have. My husband who is a  Tenderloin fan loved his Tenderloin burger , the Siracha Mayo in it gave it that extra kick. Their  USP definitely is a great quality bun which is just the right thickness that doesn't leave the throat with that dry sensation you get usually with the desi burgers  πŸ˜‚.

We also had corn dogs were nice and well most places do not sell them. The onion rings OMG are such great quality πŸ‘Œ the crunch is never ending πŸ™Š the Peri Peri fries just stole my heart. Ramesh and Suresh were both the sweet end to a great meal (batter fried Mars).

Their shakes thick and rich and great quality. Oreo and chocolate shake were my favorite. My husband loved the Snicker shake. These Gourmet burgers are definitely here to stay and make up for a great meal. Absolutely recommend the place

Food Bloggers Event at Vatel Hotel and Tourism Management School

Who does not know the prestigious Ansal University that is a big name in providing quality education for more than a decade. Ansal university has a spacious 13 acre campus in The heart of Gurgaon which is just perfect for nurturing tomorrows leaders and entrepreneurs. I recently had the privilege of dining at their Hotel and Tourism Management school at a Lunch event organised by Students. The event was a formal sit down lunch at the hospitality campus at the restaurant where these young talented hospitality aspirants showcased their cooking and service skills.

Ansal University has collaborated with the world renowned Vatel Hospitality School for the hotel and Tourism programme which has received accolades and innumerable awards globally. Vatel’s collaboration makes a difference in providing these young minds global expertise, perspective and exposure and shape them for a bright future ahead. Vatel’s Global student exchange programmes offer the students the opportunity to work with the best professionals globally to polish their skill set. The plush campus has great facilities and a world class infrastructure at par with the best in this field. The event I had the good fortune of personally interacting with the faculty at the event at the campus that day and being a hospitality grad myself I was assured that the young minds at the Vatel Hotel and Tourism Management school are in safe hands. They bring with them rich industry experience that will be surely instrumental in shaping the future of these young Turks.

The event started at a great note with a warm welcome at the entrance in the India style with Tilak and we were escorted to the restaurant. Dr Garima Parkash the Dean of the Hotel and Tourism Programme gave us a warm welcome and showed us around. The restaurants ambiance and dΓ©cor I would say is at par with any of the best real restaurants where one visits as a paying customer. The students helped us to our tables and handed over the days menu. We had a formal sit down 4 course menu with a mocktail that simply swept me off my feet. I was so impressed that these young chefs are tomorrows Michellin starred chefs in the making. The mocktail was perfectly refreshing to the tea. The Basil and tomato soup oh so refreshing with that awesome after taste of basil was just what one needed on that winter afternoon. The Mushroom and Black Garlic Pate was unlike anything I have tried before. It was just delightful. The mains with exotic grilled vegetables and the crepe verdure with a sundried tomato sauce was just wow. Conchigelli with Pesto sauce just stole my heart.

The star of the Lunch however was the spiced orange and smoked white chocolate mousse with lemon jelly and walnut crumble and the Croquembouche. The custard in the croquembouche was so light and just midly perfectly sweet that I almost died and went to heaven. The gala Lunch was followed by the Dean Ms Garims’s address and an address by Director Vatel Programme India – Mr Laurent Guiraud and they proudly spoke of a bouquet of achievements of their students and the various events they have organised and attended including a master class at the Embassy of France as well and summer internship programmes in France to experience French cuisine first hand.

The event left a lasting impression on my mind and my palate and I still look back and remember the confident young professionals of tomorrow who I had the opportunity to interact with at the Event. All the best students, I am sure you will take the world by storm.
