Not the kind of experience you expect from a brand like "The Taj Group". This was hands down my worst experience at any Taj property both food wise and customer service wise. We were 8 of us who wanted to enjoy the buffet spread at the coffee shop but to our disappointment when we landed at the coffee shop were struggled for 20 minutes to be seated. No one was willing to pay attention to us despite was calling 2 servers. Even small time restaurants have hostesses at the entrance of the restaurants assist the guests to be seated but not here. After finally when we got irritated and the staff realised this could get worse they finally gave us a table.
Water was filled in the glasses with loads of delay. We went to have a look at the buffet spread, which was rather average. Not a great variety. I personally feel even places like Barbecue nation have a better buffet spread.
Without much a do we did what we had come to do. Finish off our meal. When we called for the car from the valet service, our valet rather surprised us when he opened the door for us. While I sat in the car I said thank you to the valet and you wont believe what he said. He said "Bua madam sirf Thank you" (What Madam, only thank you), hinting at the fact that tipping the valets is mandatory. I just lost it. Did not expect such unprofessionalism from Taj as a brand. Not returning back ever to this property.
