OMG! I love the sea food at this place. Srilanka has loads of amazing restaurants and this one joins the club serving one of the best fish, shrimp and crab dishes in Colombo. This one is a little off the main city, but the long drive is worth it. The food and the setting make up for the effort you take to visit this place.
Located by the sea on a shack on Mt. Lavinia beach this place is a sea food lovers dream come true. The ambiance and music are just perfect as you sit by the sea sipping your beer. Having been to Srilanka thrice I have visited this place twice on my trips to this beautiful island nation. What I love about Loon tao is the Laid back vibe and the all excited staff who ensure you have a great time whenever you visit.
The menu is huge and has loads of options. Even if you are a vegetarian the place is vegetarian friendly and has decent veg options on the menu too. But the highlight ofcourse is the non vegetarian food. We were 8 of us so we ordered loads and loads of food and alcohol. Our gigantic order included a roast duck, a roast chicken, crispy Calamari, crispy salt and pepper vegetables, crispy cauliflower, noodles and gravy. The crispy calamari is super delicious and an absolute must have here
We finished the food in no time and relished every dish we had. The bill was around 11000 Srilankan slightly on the higher side but the cool breeze by the sea and the beautiful setting and delicious food makes up for everything. Guys I strongly recommend this place if you're in Colombo.
