Its funny that they are called Gulab, because there is nothing rosy about this place. This new outlet of Gulab opened very recently in Dwarka in the mall complex of Hotel Radisson Blu in Sec 13. Located on the ground floor the place is pretty crowded on weekends. What’s astonishing is that a lot of space is being kept empty which could be utilized for outing tables to seat people. So most of the people are forced to stand and eat.
The
menu is very limited since they seem to have a limited cooking space. They have
kept the basic chaat pakode, sweets, cakes and biscuits on the menu. They also
sell Dhokla, Khandvi, Samosa, Kachaudi, cholle Bhature amongst other things.
Since
the seating is limited the place can become pretty chaotic. Service is slow and
serving staff lacks basic service skills. We ordered a portion of Gol Gappe,
Raj Kachauri, Bhalla Papdi and Cholle Bhature.
The
Gol Gappe were stale. The Raj Kachauri was average. The Bhalla papdi lacked the
zing that a chaat normally has and failed to lift our spirits and the cholle in
the cholle bhature were bland, may be they forgot to put salt or they cater to
a large clientele with a high blood pressure, hence a low salt content.
The
prices are lower than their prime competitor Ever Green, however they fail to
deliver on quality and taste. Visit only if you must, otherwise the place is
quite miss able.
