Every time i am driving by the shahjehan road, the chaat at UPSC is must. One of the best chaat you can ever find in the hustle bustle of this crazy city we all call Delhi. I call the UPSC chaat wala a Celebrity Chaat wala, because every time I have gone to have chaat I have seen one celebrity or another. From Vinod Nagpal (Basesar Ram of Hum Log fame) to Shakti Kapoor (of Lolita fame).
The Tikki and Papdi are must haves if you have come to India Gate or are anywhere close by. The prices are also atrrractive and value for money. The Hottest tikki in the area and he also serves some other yummy chaat delicacies. At work also whenever we crave for some chaat, we send our runner to UPSC and live our tikki dream. I am actually short of words and my mouth is still watering since I absolutely adore the gole gappe, the bhalley, the Tikki, and even the papdi. Everything is absolutey spot on n terms of taste, spice and has a great chatpata flavor.
This place is what Barney Stinson will definitely call "Legedary ". If you are a chaat foodie n looking for some typical Purani Dilli chaat served with dahi and sonth, no need to go to old Delhi, head straight to UPSC. This small eatery is god only knows how many years old and his speciality are Gol Gappe, spicy Bhalle Papdi Chaat and mouth-watering Tikki's.
In a city full of BTW's and Haldiram's and Bikanervala's this place somehow has their niche loyal clientale. And the fun of eating chaat on the road side cannot even be comared to sitting in an A/c environment and making your own golgappa's. Nah! thats not how we were raised.
So we were celebrating the birthday of a colleague in office and we wanted to have something different at the bday party so we thought of ordering chaat from here. We got gol gappe, bhalla, papdi and some Tikki. Gol gappe were so crunchy and so fresh and the sonth and the paani was just perfect. The tikki was nice and crisp and the sonth on top just melted ones heart :). The bhalle and the papdi was to die for.
