OTH - On the house Cafe - C Scheme Jaipur - 4/5

Located in the super hep and posh area of C Scheme in Jaipur this place somehow reminds me of Big Chill Cafe from Delhi.

I was in Jaipur for a few days and after we had an awful experience at Four Seasons we were hesitant to try any other new place. However I checked the menu of this place on-line and it did seem that the place would be something we had been craving for in the last 24 hours.

The place has a decent parking space and since it was a Saturday night the place did seem a little over crowded. And this was simply an indicator that if people are flocking to eat here the food would definitely be worth their time and effort.

Thankfully we found ourselves a table and the attentive and courteous staff almost immediately handed over the menus to us. The ambiance is very cute and colourful. I loved that they had nice and ample alfresco seating as well, but we were not sure if mosquito's would also get dinner feasting on us, so we chose to sit inside. They have a super show window showing off some fantastic bakery products. Honestly it did occur to me that this place was too cool for Jaipur. Or may be I had underestimated Jaipur. Nonetheless the cafe somehow impresses you at some level.

The menu has loads of options and I was convinced I was in Europe when I saw the menu. From Waffles to savoury waffles to pancakes to awesome salads to sandwiches to Mexican to Italian and even Lebanese options were available in the menu.

We had been starving so we decided to order ourselves a gala meal. The food arrived on time and the desserts were definitely something to remember for all times to come. I am still raving about the carrot cake and the Belgian chocolate pastry. I cannot get over the cheese cake. Desserts so heavenly that one felt as though they were Parisian.

So this is what we had: -

Chicken Ceaser Salad - I judge any restaurant by its ceaser salad. And the one here was top class.

Masala Cheese Nachos - Oh I loved the cheesy dip and the salsa and the in house made Nacho's.

Veg Burrito - The portion was enough and the taste spectacular.

Veg and Chicken Taco's - Superb Taco's and the Taco shells were so small and cute and the filling was super. Loved the generous stuffing of cheese and they tasted stupendous.

Mexi Chilli Lamb with Rice - This dish is an ultimate must have here. This dish was a rock star and the dish of the day for me. I couldn't get enough of it. Loved the spice level and the taste.

Carrot Cake, Belgian Chocolate Pastry and Cheese Cake - All Desserts absolutely divine. Baking is most definitely their forte.

The place must definitely be on your must visit list in Jaipur, since everything from ambiance to the food and even the service and the prices to portion size ratio is top notch. The place exceeds your expectations in every aspect.
