Trailer - Sam’s journey to Old Delhi this Winter.

Starting tomorrow, I take you on my special Journey into Old Delhi. Stay tuned and Keep watching the blog this full week for awesome food discoveries in Old Delhi.

Since its Winter, Sam brings you a sneak peak into her journey to Old Delhi. Even though this trip happened a couple of months back, but what better occasion than winters to take you all into the lanes of Old delhi to taste the goodness of what this gold mine has in store for foodies like us. Starting the trip from Chawdi Bazaar from Ashok Chaat bhandar to having daulat ki chaat and there on to having some road side street food and going to our Good old Karim’s for a hearty meal and topping it with Jalebi from the old famous jalebi wala. Old Delhi has its own charm, one simply loves to roam around the Gali’s and the kucha’s especially during winter months. A trip to Old delhi is incomplete without a visit to Natraj Bhalle wala, Parathe wali gali, Jama masjid or even Red Fort. Even though the lanes are over crowded, and sometimes dark and dingy, but they are a treasure chest for foodies like you and me. Big names from Puraani Dilli include Karim’s, Giani, Old Famous Jalebi wala, Natraj Bhalle wala, Al- Jawahar, Ashok Chat bhandar, Babu Ram parathe wale, and oh Lord I am panting now thinking about the places I may have missed.

One is just over whelmed seeing so much food at every nook and corner. There will invariably be a hawker every ten steps selling chaat, pakodi, bhel puri, kachaudi, jalebi, samosa’s, kulfi, fruits, anything and everything one can think of. So Sam’s tip will come in handy when sam says do not over stuff yourself at any single counter. Eat small tit bits and move ahead. As you can see in the pictures Puraani Dilli has it all, you just gotta know what is where.
