Took my team out last night to this joint in Jangpura, and in the past have been to the ones in gurgaon and Janakpuri. The food is the same, which by the way I mean is Great. But what impressed me was the personalized service. This place gets full marks in service, the staff is so jovial, so courteous, so sweet and so very attentive and proactive that it made my visit special. Ambience is great, so is the food and the bar menu. Over all I am totally floored by the serving staff and recommend this outlet over the other branches of Barbeque nation
I had reviewed this place few months back when I had a team Dinner, and I had rated them 4.5 only on the basis of their great & impeccable service standards. A service standard absolutely “Spot on” this time has compelled me to wonder why did I be a miser and deduct that half a point, so this time its a 5 guys only because you simply spoil us by the service you provide that one wants to come back again and again and again.
So I , the bank employee by day and renegade foodie by night visited them about 3 days ago again compelled by the magnanimity of the service team and also because the buffet price is abysmally low (since it was a team dinner) for this hog till you drop buffet.
My team again got together for a Friday night outing and without a doubt we unanimously decided to visit barbeque nation again. Barbeque nation, Jungpura is a delight for anyone who wants to experience unparalleled hospitality & personalized service at a moderate cost in the city! This outlet is located in the Eros cinema complex and one can club a movie and dinner outing in the same complex. But make sure you reserve your table well in advance so as to avoid the delay & disappointment because this place is much sought after and looking at the buffet from outside makes you even more hungry and just adds to the distance between you and the scrumptious food you can have if you arrive on time. Also another important piece of information is that they give you a discount on the per head cost if you are seated by 7.30 for dinner. Awesome! Isn’t it?
Greatly huge place, decent amount of sitting space, great interiors, open kitchen and a magnum buffet all these just accentuate and enhance your complete Barbeque experience. The cuisine ranges from Mediterranean, American, Oriental and Asian origins.
Firstly I simply adore the idea of the starters being served on a live grill and that too on ones own table. An International Concept brought to India for the first time by Barbeque Nation. Food travels a very short journey and comes straight from the fire to ones plate, to ones mouth and then to ones gut. Truly a concept which was pioneered by Barbeque nation and was copied by the Pirates etc of the world. The food on the live grill just add’s to the complete meal experience and is according to me the major USP of eating out at Barbeque nation.
A paradise for non-vegetarians, Barbeque Nation offers lip-smacking starters. The variety of the starters in both vegetarian and non vegetarian category is beyond doubt most intriguing out of any buffet chain restaurants in the country. And honestly every item whether vegetarian or non vegetarian is very distinct in its flavor and I must also add is also sometimes unique only to barbeque nation. Even though other places might make cheaper variants of their starters but nothing can match up to the quality or to the taste of every food item served here.
Another factor which I already mentioned which is the sole reason for driving me specially to this outlet is “SERVICE - PAR EXCELLANCE”. Food is great at the other outlets too but one is really impressed with the F&B staff who are at their best to provide you personalized service every step of the way. They explain anything you want to know about the food they serve and serve generous helpings too, intently watching for your expressions. They will do their best to make you comfortable.
I would not be able to do justice to the review without a special mention of the personalized attention given to me and my team by the chef and the F&B manager. The chef and the Manager were generally doing rounds and talking to customers and taking their feedback. When they came to our table, the veggie people on the table cribbed and said something seemed missing in the veggie variety of starters. And I told them that I wasn't too happy with my cocktail - Cosmopolitan either. And that was it, the chef rushed back to the kitchen and there marched the service staff out of the kitchen and towards our table with even more veggie and non veg starters. They changed my drink instantly and brought a fresh one.
Our Grills already were stacked with Paneer tikka, Tandoori Mushroom, Tandoori pineapple, Tandoori vegetables, and potato in thousand island dressing but the service staff came back post the cribbing discussion with crispy corn which was a delight. They also came with crispy schezuan lotus stem, which was unique par excellence. I must add that the potatoes and Paneer tikka are simply super. Then came buttery, melt in your mouth Tandoori Paneer, chilly chicken and chicken drumsticks, spicy tandoori chicken tikka - absolutely wow. All these starters were served on the grill with a few seasonings and sauces. Even though we had already stuffed ourselves with the gorgeous Tandoori Prawn, chicken tikka and tandooi fish and chicken seekh. But could not resist the chef’s hospitality of sending in items specially for us. Full marks to the F&B team.
The quality as well as quantity of food is so great however the starters will fill up your bellies completely, leaving hardly any place for the main course. The Crispy corn, the potato and the chilli Lotus Stem, I must mention are items unique only to barbeque nation, and are an absolute delight to have.
We were stuffed and our legs were way too heavy to walk to the buffet, but we somehow managed. We arrived at the buffet and served ourselves some chicken dum briyani and salads. I recommend that post the starters, please do leave space in your tummy, else you'll regret. The biryani was great, so was the mutton, the chicken gravy, and the fish. Bhindi Aaloo deserves a special mention, I thought it was the highlight of the main course. Dal Makhani and Paneer were great too. Didn't try the Malai Kofta and Corn. Didn't even try the noodles and the Chinese gravy though. Honestly was way too over stuffed to even try.
After the hearty, hog till you drop meal, our eyes caught sight of the plethora of desserts laid on the dessert bar. I was completely awed by the very sight of the sweet little diamonds. I couldn't take my eyes off the rasgullas and the Rasmalai or the brownie or the yummilicious Firni or the simply lip smacking hot gulab jamus. The flavored gulab jamuns tasted fabulous with icecream. The cake and phirni were soothing, while the brownies were not as good but the rasmalai simply melted on my tongue. I only wished I had little space left to grab myself another piece. Saw the mousse and the cheesecake, but sadly had no appetite left to try anything else. The attached picture will show you how much we ate.
Another thing that made our evening memorable was the cheerful live music. The singer kept singing Kishore Da's numbers and took our requests too and we went absolutely craze....Post this fabulous meal while settling the bill we offered a tip, the waiter refused to accept it saying its against policy to accept tips. OMG! I was touched, such enthusiastic service people who go the extra mile for customer delight do it because its the Barbeque culture, not because they want to get tipped.
Guys, my recommendation do try out this outlet and you would know the difference between good and better service. Truly worth it....Bon Appetit!
