Sam making Som Tam Salad tonight :)

This Thai green papaya salad, also known as "som tam", is a popular dish on the menu of any Thai speciality restaurant. The slightly mild flavour of the raw green papaya complements very well with the spice of red chilli and the saltiness of the peanuts, the bitterness of the lemon and the sweetness of the Thai Sweet chilli sauce. It's so very easy to make, low-calorie, and very nutritious. Before trying the recipe, I forgot I had completely run out of Thai Chilli sauce, so I made a home made substitute for Thai Chilli sauce. Also since I am not very particularly fond of Fish sauce so I added none. This is my version of this popular recipe, some of you might disagree with it, but it tastes great nevertheless. Follow the pictures for the recipe.

So try Sam's recipe of Som tam Salad for dinner tonight!

Step -1 - Take one medium sized- Peeled raw papaya

Step -2 - you need 2 tspn Chilli flakes and peanuts about a handful

Step -3 - Since we dont have thai chilli sauce, so for the dressing we mix 7-8 tbl spoon of lemon juice with 1 tspn of red pepper sauce with the chilli flakes

Step -4- To the dressing we add about 1 tablespoon olive oil

Step -5 - To the dressing we add sugar as well about 2 tea spoons

Step -6 - Grate the raw papaya

Step -7 - coarsely chop the roasted peanuts

Step -8 - Add the peanuts to the raw papaya

Step -9 - Now Add the dressing and mix well
