SAM's favourite restaurant - Pintxo, Gurgaon - 4.5/5

Before I even start writing about this place, I have my friend Somdeb Basu to thank for recommending the place, along with other gems he has recommended in the past. As per Wikipedia - A pincho in Spanish means spike and pintxo means a small snack typically eaten in bars, traditionally eaten in northern Spain. They are somewhat like tapas, the main difference being that pinchos are usually 'spiked' with a skewer or toothpick, often to a piece of bread. They're called pinchos because many of them have a pincho (Spanish for spike), typically a toothpick —or a skewer for the larger varieties— through them.

I am a strong believer that Big things come in small packages, and I can close my eyes and blindly say that for Pintxo. This is your typical hole in the wall kind of a place which pleasantly surprises you with its food and personalised service by its chef Sushmit. Pintxo is a modern Spanish restaurant featuring Spanish and European cuisine inspired great hand-crafted food. They focus on getting the true authentic the flavors of Spain utilizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients to achieve the highest quality food possible. Located in the heart of Galleria market uin Gurgaon, Pintxo is the perfect place to begin a night out, a Sunday brunch or to spend an entire evening, over Sangaria’s.

Whether you are in the mood for great juicy Chicken wings, Sangaria’s, Paella or an amazing slow cooked Pork or Great Roast Beef this is the place to go to. Even though they have a limited seating which is the only negative by the way, but for such great food who minds the waiting time. I recommend you pre-book a table before visiting. The Chef / Manager Sushmit is a great host and ensures you have a great time, and he is so great at making your meal a personalized experience.

We went to Pintxo for lunch on a frigid Summer day and were greeted by Sushmit’s Spanish warmth from the instant we stepped through the door. And the food we had was quite simply, everything beyond delicious. Throughout, the service was friendly and personalized and my god the bill was so pocket friendly. Overall, delightful and a find for those looking for something different, and something to sweep you off your feet.

This is what we had:-

- Sangaria - The awesome Sangaria with fruits and lemon and orange zest stole my heart, even though it was non alcoholic

- Barbeque Chicken Wings - The Juiciest Chicken Wings in Town, Loved them. It will be a shame if I said they were good, Coz they were extraordinary. The Garlic Mayo on top makes them juicier.

- Chicken Ceaser Salad - Great portion and the dressing makes it yumm

- The Jalapeneo Cheese Poppers were awesome and cheesy and the dip was fantastic

- Slow Roast Pork bely sandwich - This has to be the best slow roast pork belly sandwich ever. I would have kissed the chef after having it.

- The Roast beef was oh so tender, so juicy and so amaazing that I could go on and on about it.

- Calamari was nice, but they could may be fry the calamari before batter frying cause it tasted little rawish.
