Ah! What a night we had@ Shiro, The Samrat Hotel

OMG! I have no words to describe the grandeur, the magnificence and how majestic this place is. Located at the lobby level at the Samrat Hotel, this place really impressed me to the core. The occasion was Mom and Dad’s anniversary, but even though the place was nice but later did I realize the music on a Saturday night was little loud to celebrate your parents anniversary.

The way to the restaurant is through a staircase decorated on one side by beautiful lamps, and ropes and the minute you enter the dim lighting and the majestic Buddha structures and statues really left me in awe of this place. We were soon guided to a table and we sat by the bar. The bar was beautifully decorated and the ceiling of the bar had the most unique and pretty lighting. I felt as though I was transported in time to China and there were sky lanters hanging down from the sky.

The place is huge, the staff is courteous, the menu is vast, Shiro has everything you would expect from a restaurant in a 5 star hotel. So now coming to the food. Obviously serving Pan asian cuisine, the food doesn’t fail to impress you at all. This is what we had.

Premium Sushi Platter - It has 12 pc of Sushi with a wide variety of Fish - Norwegian Salmon, Crabstick, tuna, red snapper, prawn and Hibachi Tuna. And let me close my eyes and tell you best Sushi ever.

My Drink - The Cranberry Crush with Vodka - was super.

Kakiage - SHreddded Veggies in Tempura Batter - They were nice and crisp, simple and to the point

Herb Crusted Fish with Sweet Chilli Sambal - Vietnamese Basa infused with Basil and mint Marinade, grilled and served with an inhouse sweet Chilli Sambal sauce. The Fish was so tender and one of the best herb crusted fish Sam has ever had .The Sambal sauce really complemented the Fish

Mushroom & babycorn in Thai Barbeque Sauce - I havent had Mushrooms ever that have tasted better than these. The Sauce was really nice and this was surprisingly the dish of the day for all of us.

Yaki Udon noodles in Teriyaki Sauce with loads of veggies - My Ist time with Udon Noodles, and for someone who hasnt had them earlier, it was definitely a shock at the outset, but as you eat them, you realize they are like any other noodles and loads of veggies just make them super
